We're excited to announce that Match Play Team Formats are coming soon to Open Tee! This new feature will let you team up with friends and compete in various game formats, adding more strategy and excitement to your rounds.
Match Play introduces a fresh, competitive way to play golf. With formats like Singles, Fourball, Foursomes, Greensomes, and Scramble, you’ll be able to enjoy team-based play with structured scoring.
New Game Formats
Once released, you’ll be able to choose from the following Match Play team formats:
Singles
A 1v1 Match Play format where two players compete to win individual holes.
The player with the most holes won is the victor.
Handicap: Full playing handicap applies.
Fourball
A 2v2 team format where each player plays their own ball.
The best score from each team is counted for the hole.
Handicap: 90% of playing handicap applies.
Foursomes
A 2v2 format where teammates alternate shots on the same ball.
The team with the lowest score wins the hole.
Handicap: 50% of combined handicap.
Greensomes
A variation of Foursomes where both teammates tee off.
The best drive is selected, and alternate shots are played from that spot.
Handicap: 60% of lower and 40% of higher handicap combined.
Scramble
A 2v2 format where all players hit each shot.
The best shot is selected, and all players play from that spot.
Handicap: 35% of lower and 15% of higher handicap combined.
💡 Pro Tip: To sort players into correct teams long press on the player in Round Setup to move them to the correct team.
